Venue 16 reflects a historic image of the city of Montreux's past. This location is perfect for both a ceremony and a reception as it offers several large ballrooms, terraces, and fabulous views. Montreux Castle is located one hour by train or car from Geneva International Airport and two hours away from Kloten International Airport in Zurich.

After having been in the family De La Sarra's possession for almost a century, the castle estate and land was passed into the hands of the Gingin's around 1415 when Jean de Gingin and Marguerite De La Sarra were married. Lord Jean de Gingins of Divonne is known as having started the construction of the castle itself in 1440. In 1476 a devastating fire destroyed that castle during the Bourgogne Wars. The castle then rebuilt at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. In 1549, the castle and the estate were acquired by yet another family and the last lords of this castle were the Bondeli Family. Nowadays, the estate has become a key focus for local wine production.

In 1981 the estate was purchased by a new owner who has been striving to renovate and update it in order to serve as a magnificent historic location to accommodate different group and business functions, including weddings and receptions. Today there are more than 2500m2 of rental space, including glorious 17th century apartments, which have been amazingly preserved over the years. From this location, you and your guests can marvel at the 180- panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
